What is the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation? The La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation (LCFEF) was founded in 1978 to provide a sustainable source of funding for the local public schools and since its inception has provided over $15 million in gifts to the La Cañada Unified School District. Last year's gift was $1.28 million. How have our schools maintained their excellence? Despite constant financial stress from the State of California's budget constraints, students in La Cañada schools continue to excel and receive a well-rounded education. This is due in large part to the generosity of the community providing essential and important programs that most districts have had to cut long ago. The Foundation funds:
We must all do our part These programs and the benefit received by the children is dependent on funding from school families and the community at large. The Foundation strongly encourages each school family to contribute $365 per child per school year (just a Dollar a Day) -- a BARGAIN considering the quality of education and the cost of a comparable private school education. The Foundation also strives to communicate the benefit good schools have on a community -- increased property values being the most apparent. Therefore we continually reach out to local businesses and residents without children in the public school system for their support. |
