Ways to Give

The La Canada Flintridge Educational Foundation is a registered non-profit California corporation. All qualified contributions are tax deductible under applicable Federal and California Tax Laws.

You can financially support the Foundation, our kids and our schools in several ways:

Donate Online NOW!

School Families Can Become a Dollar-A-Day Donor during Back to School Night or Club 365 Donor Drives: We ask each school family to do their part by donating just $1 per day per child. At Back to School Night, you will hear from one of our board members and be given the opportunity to make a pledge or write a check and get it off your to-do list for the rest of the year. All Dollar-A-Day Donors receive a license plate holder, a yard sign "thank you" and are included in our Donor Roll that is published on our web site and in the local newspaper in August. If you miss the chance in September, there is still time in May during our Club 365 challenge where the grades at each school compete for the highest percentage of families at the Dollar-a-Day level.

Include the Foundation's Annual or Endowment Fund in your Estate Plan: You can support the Foundation's commitment to excellence in public education through a bequest, trust, IRA, gift annuity, life insurance, pension plan or other planned gift. To make the Foundation aware of your intentions, you can send this non-binding notification of bequest to the Foundation. Should you need more information on planned giving vehicles, you can contact your estate planning attorney, or contact Holly Bullard at Holley & Galen, an estate planning firm who works with the Foundation.

Transfer Appreciated Assets to the Annual or Endowment Fund: Donating appreciated stocks have benefits for the Foundation as well as donors. In addition to the satisfaction of helping our kids and our schools, donors receive a deduction for the full current market value of their asset, not the original cost. Additionally, donors avoid the 20% capital gain tax on the stock's appreciation cost. For information on how to transfer your appreciated asset to the Foundation's brokerage account, click here.

Attend or Support a Foundation Event

Patronize one of our Business Partners:

Enroll for the first time in Anderson Adventure Camp and 10% of your LCUSD students' tuition will benefit LCFEF.

Union 76 at Foothill and Alta Canyada donates a penny per gallon of all gas sold on the 15th of every month.

Donate your car to the Foundation via Riteway Charity Services

Do your on-line shopping through One Cause for a percentage of every purchase coming back to our kids.

Have your car repaired at Holmes Body Shop and they will donate 20% of the total cost of your repairs to our schools

United Way: If your workplace conducts a United Way campaign, you can contribute to the LCF Educational Foundation as your designated agency. The Foundation's 5-Digit ID# is 35217. For more information on the United Way and its workplace giving, click here.

Employer Matching Funds: Many companies match donations by their employees to charitable and other nonprofit organizations. This is an excellent way to increase your donation to the Foundation. The company's matching contribution counts towards your annual gift total. Check with your company's human resources department to see if they have a program.

Tribute and Memorial Gifts: Just not sure what to get that person who has everything? How about making a tribute gift in their honor to the Endowment fund? Instead of sending flowers to express sympathy at the passing of a friend, consider making a gift in their memory. If sending in a gift, please include a note making your tribute or memorial intentions known and whom we should notify of your gift. This option is available online as well.
